My Experience with Tapping (EFT)

I love learning about different modalities in Alternative Medicine and their healing properties. I recently connected with a fellow Pacific College student, and learned about her expertises in Chinese Face Reading and Emotional Freedom Technique (aka Tapping). Mozelle (Mo) Armijo is a colleague of mine at PCOM who I’ve bonded with over our similar mindsets, online presence goals and interests of holistic healing. I’m so excited to share with you guys what I’ve learned from her.

Mozelle is a Clinical EFT Universe Certified Practitioner and a graduate of the Lotus Institute Master Face Reading program. She combines face reading and EFT as a way to help her clients identify and process any limiting beliefs so that they may learn to love the skin they are in and, as a result, lead more empowered, embodied lives.

I had a very minimal understanding of what Tapping was before chatting with Mo about the process. After chatting with her, I learned that Tapping is used to:

  • change negative feelings
  • reduce distressing and/or self-limiting thoughts
  • alter repetitive unwanted behaviors

It can also be effective for working with and resolving traumatic memories, and is commonly used to create positive emotional states, achieve desired goals and attain higher states of health, well-being and resilience.

After Mozelle explained the process to me in detail and answered all of my questions about it, we did a Tapping session to explore some limiting beliefs that I had been subconsciously holding on to. It took me a little bit to decide on what to focus on during our session, but once I chose a focus we got right to it.

The session began with deciding on and saying out loud a limiting belief that I would like to let go of. From there on, Mo asked me some questions about when I began to think this about myself, an initial situation that helped create this belief. We got very specific, and I began to identify a feeling in my chest that I associated with this statement.

Mo guided me through the tapping process, choosing specific areas to be self-percussed while following her lead in reciting statements. During our session, I noticed that I had the ability to feel the location of where emotions were residing in my body. As we tapped together, I felt them move, and even be released. At the end of the session, the self-limiting belief that we chose to focus on didn’t even feel true when I said it out loud anymore.

I’m very grateful for Mozelle taking me through the Tapping process, and that I got to experience it with her first hand. For any of you guys out there wanting more info on her backgournd, the process, or to schedule a free consult check out her website here, and keep up with her on Instagram at @moqiwellness 🙂
